PCL Family of Companies

The PCL family of companies has a century-long tradition of excellence, hard work and a can-do attitude. We are construction leaders in buildings, civil and heavy industrial markets. We aspire to be your builders of choice. What began as a small prairie construction outfit has grown into the largest general contracting organization in Canada and the 10th largest in the United States. Today, our annual volume approaches $5 billion.

For almost a century, Aecon and our predecessor companies have helped build many of Canada’s most famous infrastructure landmarks – from the CN Tower and the St. Lawrence Seaway, to the Calgary Olympic Oval and the Halifax Shipyards. But, perhaps more importantly, we’ve helped build hundreds of factories, roads, sewers, theatres, book stores, power plants, paint shops, arts centres, factories, offices, hotels and gas distribution networks (to name a few) that aren’t so famous.

As the largest publicly traded construction and infrastructure development company in Canada, our expertise covers the full range of services, including design and construction, financing, operating, procurement and project management.

Aecon’s record for innovation and our ability to handle complex construction challenges is matched by our commitment to quality and safety. Aligning these elements is what drives us to constantly find new ways to bring added value to our clients across the country and around the world.

We have earned our reputation for industry leadership in civil, buildings, industrial, nuclear and utility construction.

In an industry where experience and scale count – Aecon is building things that matter.

The Sandford Fleming Foundation's primary objective is to foster and create an enriched academic environment for co-operative engineering students. This objective is achieved through numerous programs. The Sandford Fleming Foundation is a "not for profit" organization associated with the Faculty of Engineering at Waterloo.
